- Using the Joist Template
-
- Input is all done in the last 3 columns in the
- unprotected slots. Values for span, live and
- dead load, breadth, depth, spacing etc are
- entered. This will be reflected by instantaneous
- changes to the calculated values. Loads are in
- KN/m2 and dims are in mm, stress is in N/mm2.
-
- Check that your sheet is complete and add any
- comments at the bottom.
-
- Set printer to condensed 16.67cpi for output. I
- use a DeskJet which ignores the input columns, p q
- and r thus giving a single A4 sheet as a
- "calculation sheet".
-
- The Template is offered for non-commercial use and
- remains the copyright of Richard Fallas. No
- responsibility will be accepted for interpretation
- or use of any results obtained from the template.
- The principles used in the template are based on
- accepted laws of physics and mechanics however
- "real life" assessment of structures is a complex
- matter and should be referred to a qualified Civil
- or Structural Engineer.
